Organometallics have a long history in the development of both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts for the manufacture of key industrial chemicals and polymers. Subtleties in generating the most active/selective formulations still occupy a substantial amount of R&D supported by organometallics.
Advances in nano-scaled heterogenous surface catalysis leverages the structural control provided with advanced CVD/ALD methods. The design and generation of stable nanoscale catalytic structures or catalyst supports, including discrete nanoparticle composites, provides for designed, well-controlled catalytic surfaces.
Catalytic formulations can also be created in solution or condensed phase, as well as by vapor mediated ALD/CVD processes. Lower vapor phase, or thermally less stable compounds, with more complex structural options, can lead to a wide array of retained structures for both homogeneous and heterogeneous applications. In these cases, suitable solubility and subsequent reaction chemistry can result in either subtle homogeneous or subsequently broken down for more refractory heterogeneous structures.
The Ereztech offering anticipates this broader range of precursor physical properties, see for example the selection of transition metal alkyls, aromatics, polydentates, such as Ni, Zr, Y, as well as the range of volatile sources to build nanostructured supports, e.g., Al2O3, SiO2, etc.
Most frequently, our customers are interested in the following compounds for these types of applications: Tetrakis(ethylmethylamino)zirconium, Tantalum(V) ethoxide, Bis(cyclopentadienyl)cobalt,Tris(dimethylamino)borane, TDMAB, Nickel bis(N,N’-ditertialbutylacetamidinate), Tetrabenzylhafnium, Tetrakis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl- 3,5-heptanedionate)cerium, 2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionate(III)neodymium
