Gadolinium(III) isopropoxide has been used as a catalyst for enantioselective construction of beta-quaternary carbons via conjugate addition reactions, generation of reactive enolates, regioselective/stereoselective conjugate addition of cyanide to enones, Strecker reactions, asymmetric ring-opening of Meso-aziridines.
