Tris (isopropylcyclopentadienyl) lutetium is used as a precursor for the synthesis of organometallic compounds. Lu(iPrCp)3 has been used for examining the atomic layer deposition (ALD) of LuxAl2−xO3 in a nanolaminate approach. See link below
